Hmm. It's a nice child's microscope, not at all a professional tool. The plate must have a much bigger size (not to speak of a device for micrometric translation in X and Z of the glass-mounted preparation), there should be a micrometric focussing to allow higher magnifications and either a condenser or a built-in specific lighting device. Please consult the site of real microscope makers such as Leitz, Nikon, Olympus, Bausch and Lomb, Zeiss etc. For a child I would rate it 5, for a lab equipment 1.
