Hello, my name is John. I'm a graduate of several Level 2 (Advanced) courses at my local community College for CAD technical illustration, and 3D modeling for graphic design and 3d printing. I'm also interested in becoming a certified Autodesk 3dsmax instructor, and have been studying 3D modeling for several years. My primary focus and interest is in exploring digital art through parametric and generative 3D modeling, geometric design, and mathematical aesthetic.
I'm passionate about 3D modeling, mesh topology, and CAD. In particular, techniques and workflow related to the creation of three-dimensional objects in virtual space, for virtual design or 3D print. I consider 3d modeling an art form, and believe technique is as important as aesthetic for producing quality models that are widely compatible, and useful for nearly any computer graphics purpose.
I hope you enjoy viewing my gallery, and using my models, and please do not hesitate to contact me to chat about design, 3D modeling, or just drop a note to say hi.

A simple, but very intricate model of a plastic milk crate, available as a .max scene file, and compatible with 3dsmax 2012 or higher. This object is modeled to scale, using standard milk crate dimensions of 11" high, x 13" wide(sides). Since these crates are used differently by several customers, manufacturers and suppliers are said to make them accordingly, to fit the customers specifications, so dimensions and mould styles can vary greatly from crate to crate. The model has been UV Unwrapped, and comes complete with texture maps for the color/diffuse, material channels. I've provided 4 different color texture maps in maximum quality JPG format, with resolution of 2048x2048 pixels, which is suitable for close-up rendering. Notice that you may need to tweak, or adjust, the diffuse and specular intensity on the model after import, to ensure an optimum render result. Seamless procedural materials should work fine on this model as well, and actually encouraged.I modeled this object with the minimal amount of polygons needed to achieve the desired shape, however, I did add additional supporting edges to the model in order to create beveled edges to catch the light, and reduce any potential for render artifacts across various 3D render platforms. This model is not intended for high resolution rendering and visualization, and is not suited for real-time game engines, without some optimization. The object consists of 20,989 polygons in total, and 19,344 vertices. The model is 99.5% quad polygons, and 0.3% triangles. There are no polygons on this model that exceed 4 sides. You are free to use or modify this model as you see fit for your own projects or scenes. As with all my freebies, this model can be used for both commercial and non-commercial renders. You may not, however, resell these objects, or any derivative of them; individually, or as part of a package/set.**The modifier stack for this object has been collapsed in this scene file, in order to maximize compatibility.
