Here is a tool that I use a lot for my scenes and I thought I would share.
Sometimes the Reality light isn't going to work, particularly when you have to make the light surface disappear.
In these cases I use a number of primitive cubes, parented to the camera, as light sources. This way the light can be easily aimed, the light levels of the different panels can be adjusted, and the panels themselves can be hidden from the render camera.
I also have a second light set that has a backsplash blocker, which prevents extra light from radiating from the back of the mesh lights. This, however, can't be hidden from the render camera so it takes a bit more finesse in use.
