Excellent, thank you so much for sharing :) And I was very surprised that this procedure also works very well for Genesis 8 ;)

Daz Studio is great program the only reason I prefer poser over Daz studio is the UI Posing a figure just seems cumbersome compared to the freedom you have in poser, I wish Daz would change this, If they reworked it I wouldn't be trying to get figured into Poser as often because I wouldn't feel I needed to.
Tucan-Tiki 4:33AM | Thu, 18 March 2021
Export the hair as prop and parent it in poser after you apply the textures again the hair should retain all it's original groupings and uv you will just have to look for the textures and reapply them. Otherwise your going to get a dancing wig show
Tucan-Tiki 4:23AM | Thu, 18 March 2021
One more fix you need to know if your having trouble getting clothes to fit in poser from Daz Studio just apply clothes on Daz Studio then run the transfer utility then export the clothes they will fit your character with no issues because the transfer utility will apply all morphs from the figure to the clothing which is what your missing if you exported them without doing that first and found they wouldn't fit or that the JCM's were messed up.
Tucan-Tiki 4:08AM | Thu, 18 March 2021
Thank you for taking the time to effort to creat this, I haven't tried the 2.0 version yet But my experience has been that once you export a figure by dson you have to completely dress the figure from scratch every time you use it or poser either rewrites the figure file and causes it to become corrupt somehow sabotoging the figure if you resave the figure or resave it as either a cr2 or pz3 it will either end up spagettified and streached out or the clothing will will get corrupted and crumble on the figures chest area, or you may even end up with a black figure with all the UV's corrupted or a figure outline or find deleting dson figures in the scene crash poser 11. My work around has been not to resave the figure from dson export folder and definitely not with any attachments including hair, Props, Textures or clothing items, You basically have to dress the figure each time until it's ready to render if you save it as a character it's eventually going to become corrupt. I think poser does not understand the JCM's and does some kind of edit when you try to save a genesis 3 or 8 figure causing a miscommunication issue with dson which wreaks the figure in several different ways that are susceptible. I am hoping this update solves that issue

A little update . . . some of the maps have to be applied manually . . . but that's okay. Also, I see the converter allows for the actual pz2 files but I am not seeing how to do it. Is there a tutorial for this? Overall I am very happy with this. :0D
Tristia01 1:54PM | Sat, 01 August 2020
First . . . THANK YOU!!!!! This does work. I don't know about Mac, but mine worked with Windows. This is not for a real lightweight though, you need to pay very close attention to the details like what directory it's supposed to be going in. At first, it didn't work . . . and then I tracked it and re-tracked it until I was sure everything should line up and . . . it did! You don't know how I wanted to focus my projects in Poser - even to the point of re-rigging DAZ characters (now that's a pain). So many of my new models are DAZ only. (Growl). But - there's more, this doesn't just work for Gen 3 and 8 . . . I got my T-Rex 3 in with no problem too. And I'm still laughing over that one. I have a load of stuff to transfer. If you have issues with additional files . . . just search for them. I'm still poking around for additional maps, etc., but who cares, I got the model into Poser and it basically works. I have missed Poser sooooo much. And now (with this) I'm finally free of DAZ Studio . . . again. thank you!!! :0D

It mentions in the description "Mac issues/incompatibilities" Perhaps one of these might be that the download file only contains an exe and msi file for install which only works on a PC. Perhaps "Mac issues/incompatibilities" could be replaced with "only works on a PC".

A big thank you to Willdial you are great!, finally I can use genesis 3 in poser 11, I had only one minimal problem, the program genesis 3 poser updater is using points to separate decimals, and in my country we use the comma to separate them, so I just edited the "Genesis3PoserUpdater.exe.config" file on the installed directory of this program, the multiply factor instead of 0.30 to 0,30 so that the expresions don't explode due to the decimal numbers, and thats how its solved, so far everything awesome guys, THIS WORKS! Im happy, greetings!

A belated thanks to Lululee and Willdial for all their hard work in not only making this possible, but spreading the word too. I download WINE 4.0.1.1 from http://winebottler.kronenberg.org and using this and Willdial's Windows scrips managed to get this working in the Poser Pro 11 beta. I have a number of screenshots explaining the process if any Mac Users are interested. Not sure where to post them so feel free to buzz me if you'd like the explanation and I will send a zip file. I enclose jpg of the expression working. Cheers, Paul ![Expressions.jpg](https://bw-1651cf0d2f737d7adeab84d339dbabd3-freestuff.s3.amazonaws.com/comments/comment_85879/file_b3e3e393c77e35a4a3f3cbd1e429b5dc.jpg)

The G3 figure works perfectly.. until dressing. When she get an upper clothing (T shirt), the pose file affects only the cloth. (No, I'm not stupid, the figure's body is selected). Somehow the cloth get the bodyparts' names. In the hierarhy editor most of the bodyparts disappear from the figure and apper under the cloth. I delete the cloth, apply the pose and reload the cloth. Not perfect, but works, however it's wearing, and every time I must refine again. The other big problem is the hair. When I load a hair, it fits automatically to the character, and move together all the bodyparts But when I apply a pose, the hair is screwed. ![error.jpg](https://bw-1651cf0d2f737d7adeab84d339dbabd3-freestuff.s3.amazonaws.com/comments/comment_84959/file_3988c7f88ebcb58c6ce932b957b6f332.jpg)

awwww, darn it. I have Poser Pro 11 game dev edition. Still nice work! ^_^
JAG 5:06PM | Sat, 24 February 2018
Update: This only works for POSER 11. According to Willdial it does not work in Poser10/GameDev or previous versions. Since the majority of her morphs work, I'm stumped as to why certain ones do not. For instance her mouth will open, but lips will not smile. That seems odd. If anyone finds a workaround that works, please share with us.
JAG 2:29AM | Sat, 24 February 2018
I ran into numerous problems with the PDF instructions for this and finally figured out the "invisible" figure is due to you not having the **RUNTIME** from **DAZ** added to your Poser directories. Try that fix for those of you who had the issue. I am now able to use her in Poser Game Dev 2014 but her expressions will still not work. I've run Will's script various ways and it says its working but the figure remains unchanged. I've emailed Will about it - but does anyone else have similar issues and maybe a fix for it?
DevDante 11:24AM | Sat, 18 November 2017
SOLUTIONS FOR PROBLEMS: First of all, thank you for sharing this amazing work. Second, I'm posting this here because I also had a lot of difficulty getting this to work, and I hope this helps someone else. Here's a link to a webinar where the entire process is explained: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEfMP7aQ-NE The solution for my own problem (I could load G3, but had had an invisible figure and couldn't do anything with it) was the fact that the Poser DSON importer gets floopy if it has to load data from multiple runtime locations. And since it needs data from both the new figure you created and the original Daz genesis figure, it starts to go wrong if you have completely different runtime locations. The full explanation on how to fix this starts at around 9:30 in the link I provided.

Solution for "the format of the input string is incorrect" error: It happens when you use international windows. The international windows use comma for decimal places, the american uses point. You can change it in the country settings, and the PoserUpdater works properly. Thanks for this great program, I love it!

I got the same error : "the format of the input string is incorrect" as gaius when using the Genesis 3 Poser updater.... I used XL - Content Library to do the first part of the steps to create the Poser cr2.... I may try and do those steps in DAZ and see if I can get it to work. Thanks for the hard work of those putting the parts together.

I had a lot of puzzling moments with very odd and unstable behaviour during the conversion process with Genesis 3 Male Fujio (a Kenji 7 morph). I solved my problem by luanching the DSON Support item from Poser's drop-down Scripts menu. I cleared the cache, and I got the conversion to work. So, must clear the DSON Support utility cache.

I use to be a Poser user but since 7, I been a hard core Studio user. Recently due to problems with DAZ (I refuse to update to their v4.9) and getting plug-ins for 4.8 that I know excist (they only want to sell me the 4.9 verson) I am seriously looking at moving back to Poser. I've already brought Debut and installed it, cost me less then a quarterly membership to PC+, to use get back into the Poser scene. If things go well,I can get 10 for $60, the $200 for 11 is just too far out of reach. Still, I'm hoping someone can figure out how to get this to work in 10 and will be crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

Hi, everyone. I am a MAC USER. I found i way to work with this tool too. Mac user need the winebottler program from kronenberg (its free, google it). After downloading follow the instruction and run the .msi file on your mac like an app. The expression may be do not work. (Uncheck the force limits of every joint. After unchecking the Force Limits some Poses work better in poser 11 Pro). I had to go to my poser 2014 pro version and update there my GENESIS 3 Figure. After that i could load the figure expressions to my GENESIS 3 Figure. This work with the female and male Figure. Hope this could help some Mac user. thanx. have nice weekend kind regards gany78

Thank you for creating this utility. I haven't learned how to use Studio. I've just dabbled with it. I was upset when the genesis figures couldn't be used in Poser. And I was relieved when they created poser companion files. But when Genesis 3 came out, once again they left Poser out. I'm still unhappy that mostly all that DAZ seems to produce is only for DAZ Studio. I am learning to use Studio, but I'm grateful that you have created this utility for Poser. Thank you from the bottom of this 'student of grudgingly learning Studio's' heart.

Can this be reviewed of how it exactly works in Poser? There are more people besides me who are getting a blank scene, with only the name on top of the scene. I really appreciate the effort that you do/have done and I love to have G3F finally working inside Poser 11. But as it is now it's not working.

Ooh. Don't have Poser 11 yet, but saving this for when I do. I love using Genesis(es) in Poser. Thanks for figuring this out! <img class="emojione" alt="😄" title="" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/4.5/png/32/1f604.png"/>

OUTSTANDING! And that is before installing the .msi updater itself! The method of converting the G3F INSIDE DS 4.x by itself is worthy of high praise!!! Now to see what the .msi does. <img class="emojione" alt="😂" title=":joy:" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/4.5/png/32/1f602.png"/>

This could be a game changer. Finally, new Daz content in the stable powerhouse that is Poser. I'm looking forward to giving this a try! Thank you SO MUCH!

Brilliant. Thank you both for your vision, generosity, skill, hard graft and just darned love for the community, in creating something that the two software behemoths claimed was impossible. Good on you both!

I like how this was in my email. I kind of already knew the Triax trick but thanks for the expression control!
