***UPDATE*** 4-5-2020
Fixed missing one missing texture error, added emission presets for each quadrant, plus the 12 meter square preset. You can even use the grid itself to light your layout if you want.
_______________________________
This is a utility measuring prop designed to assist in precision assembling of kitbashed or modular assets within Daz Studio.
This measuring surface is easily adapted to any 3d application, provided you apply the correct scale.
Since I've already converted scale to Daz, you have nothing to worry about!
I suggest using the scene subset, and then deleting whatever surfaces you do not need, to avoid having to manually tile the objects together. Each surface covers 8 square meters.
ENJOY!

Or one can scale it to English metrics for US and historical British Empire settings.
Echidnaean 1:18AM | Sat, 04 April 2020
You can! Although as is, you would just have to rotate one of the canvases 90 degrees and apply the blank grid material preset. Then if you wanted to add your own scale markers (based on the 8square meters that the prop is scaled to at 1:1) just type out some letters on a transparent background and load them into the LIE editor on alpha blend, or b&w on multiply mode, and drag them into place. In that way you can expand this scaling system indefinitely.

This looks very handy, I'm curious if I can also use it to scale the height, but I will soon know it.

Very handy! TYVM for this!

You're welcome!. By the way if people want to use this for much larger scene layouts you could do a little hack like scale the parent plane by 10, or load a null (empty and parent the group to that and scale by 10 ) then you get 80 square meters per tile.
