Product Notes

P3DO is a 20 year old Poser utility. The free version may be used as an alternative to the Poser and Daz library palette.

It has the Explorer look and feel. You may navigate your libraries with it and double-click a file to open in Poser or Daz Studio.

- Navigation shortcuts to the various Poser and Daz Studio libraries, a search tool, a Windows like Favorites menu.

- Poser and DUF files exploration: Show the references files list of a Poser or a DUF file and the ability to navigate to that reference.

- Tools to manage the files and a complete Explorer like system: move, copy, paste, delete and drag and drop.

The pro version is distributed on free sites as a freeware. It is not a demo of the pro version and you will not be asked to register.

Many thanks for this; it works great and makes my Poser 9 functional again! Got the Pro version because of this and your support here =)

Hi dissectionalone, about configuration you have to tell P3DO where Poser runtimes are. Run Poser Runtimes Wizard from assistant menu. This should do the trick. If not please contact me at support_at_senosoft_com I will help you out.

Thank you for creating this. Is this program compatible with Poser Debut? I've tried it out and it locates my content library but whenever I try to load a figure nothing happens, except the playhead in Poser's timeline starts moving as if playing a looped animation. Does it need some special configuration in order to work? Thanks in advance

You are welcom 9thAmazon, that was a bad surprise for a lot of people. Including me, because I never intended to replace the library, just to complete it. I will do my best to add more commands to P3DO to help this out. But time is scarce. Doing my best. Thank you for your message.

Good, here is a shorter summary.for others.
Yes, the Poser folders wizard is available from 2 locations:
- Tools menu > Options dialog > Poser tab > Poser Folders Wizard
- Assistant menu > Poser Folders Wizard
This is a mandatory part to use P3DO with Poser.

Once done. All you have to do is:
-a single click on a Poser file to inspect its content from the InDepth window
-double-click to open in Poser.

Okay. I got a prop to load. Seems to be working. (Wish I could have edited my previous post.) Thanks for making this free!

JagoBC 4:57AM | Thu, 28 January 2021

Thanks, yarp. That's a lot to digest (I'm an artist not a technician :)! ). I found a Poser Runtimes Wizard under options. Is that what you meant?

Hi JagoBC, when P3DO starts and Poser is detected it will ask you if you want to run the Poser Folders Wizard. It is in the Assistant menu (upper right). This will tell P3DO where the LibraryPrefs.xml is located and will populate the Runtimes locations. Once this has been done the Poser icon above the Folders will be populated with the various Poser Library paths enabling a quick navigation to all your assets. When you click a Poser file the InDepth tree shows the various references attached to the Poser file. You may right click a Texture and select Go To to navigate to it. When you double-click a Poser file it will open in Poser or select Right Click > Plugin > Open as a Poser Library Preset. There is also a Searching tool on the Folders panel toolbar to look for your assets. The result is populated in the Repository view. You may double-clik it to open in Poser or right click Go To to navigate to its location. Hope it helps, if you have any question don't hesitate to ask.

Are there instructions for this somewhere? I installed it, but it just shows my pictures. When I navigate to the P9 Runtime, it displays nothing.

Well, again, thank you @yarp ! I'll try to get to know better your program, in order to make good use of it. Keep up the good work with version 2.9. My favourite app is Carrara, and just the fact that you try to support it is really appreciated. I do not know if I will be able to help, but in case you need some Carrara feedback/testing just ask :-)

Thank you Richie, the end of Flash is for sure a big issue and a surprise to me too. I am currently working on P3DO 2.9 and I will review P3DO Library support to see what essential features could be missing for a complete replacement of the Libraries.
As for Carrara I've got few feedbacks on it, feel free to ask for improvements.

richiecunningham 9:19PM | Thu, 21 January 2021

Thank you so much!! You saved my copy of Poser 9 from becoming useless. Down with whoever decided to base poser's library on Flash and down with Adobe for ending Flash in all its shapes (not only in browsers). Cheers to your useful - now essential in my case - program. Moreover, I see that it supports Carrara so I may even discover some interesting features, therefore turning a damage to something positive.

💀The Boatman🛶 says, "Wonderful!" [pages shuffle] Ah. Here we go! This is called. **"_Conforming to a saturated and historical industry standard to maximize user integration, satisfaction, and usability; therefore, creating an informed, repeat performance customer base._"** I've had a few Microsoft corporate executives come this way, and EVERY ONE of them has the All-Expense Paid Travel Ticket to the 9th Plane of Hell...I hate rowing that. Ugh. The folks at Daz and Poser must have been topping off their generous droughts of _Jimmy Jones Expresso Grape Kool-Aid_ with an extra big deep breath of _G. Reaps Diesel Nasal Decongestant_ if they thought, "_Gee-willerkers! People willllll looove that our interface is waaaay different from Windows, those naughty poos!_" Thanks for the share! BTW, remind me when you come this way, and I'll let you ride up front! 👍

Hi bwldrd, did you have a previous installation of P3DO ? Most likely a setup issue. Uninstall everything and redo the installation. Sorry for that.

Thank you, but can't get it to work.. Keep getting error 'This application was unaable to start correctly (0xc0000142)'

Thank you everyone.
Hi Wizzard, sure the new Favorite button is a blessing. The Poser button was in P3DO pro for long, and the Daz Studio one is new. With 2.8 a number of pro navigation features have been added to the free version.
