Product Notes

No, yr not lookin' @ some kinda underhanded, crafty postwork in the promo... thas done completely in render.

So a while back I needed a laser tingy fer a image, & lookin' through what I had I found my options.... sub- par. So I whipped up this lil' beauty :D
Morfable to become whatever kinda laser ya need; gun blasts, jail bars, security sensors, or even one of them there laser sword tingies from that movie series.

Does NOT work in DS due to the lack of certain shader options (I couldn' find 'em, anyway)

Cool- thank you! I am sure I can put this to good use. I am sure there is a shader out there to make this work in DS!

Nice !! FWIW, can usually get very nice glow by dialling a material's ambience to 'super-ambient' in 'Advanced'. This lets you set much, much higher value than 'Basic'. Sorry, some iteration often required, and I still can't figure why such settings some-times change their colour and value without user-input. YMMV...

Thanks fer doin' my homework fer me Cobbler :) I'm still relatively new to the DS side of tings, so yr input is greatly appreciated. I knew of the emitter settings, but the bloom bit is (well received) news to me. I'm intrigued to see yr results... mebbe try a link to a gallery image (if/ when ya ever go that far). Or alternately ya could try postin' a pic &/or screenshot of yr settings in my Freestuff forum thread that I created to discuss my offerings.

Apparently the link to my render does not get posted on these areas, You'll have to take my word for it I guess, it works beautifully!! [LaserTingy.jpg]()

Nice Useful Prop! I am solely a DAZ user and I can certify it works in DAZ with small modifications. Here's a render- ended up hiding the glow node of the prop as it won't be needed in Iray. I used a light emitter shader on the core surface and turned on the bloom setting in the filtering tab of the Render Settings area. changed Bloom Filter Threshold to 11,000 and the Bloom Filter Radius to .1 and voila, glowing Laser Tingy in a PBR world... Thanks again for the prop and it's good to see another musician type on here ;)

If anyone wants to take a crack at it, the offendin' offender is findin' a parallel between Poser's Transparency Edge & Transparency Falloff nodes & DS's mess of options in the Shader Builder tingy. On a side note, DS is WAY easier to make this (or any other) prop cast its' own light... just w/o the cool glow I incorporated. Luck :)
Does NOT work in DS due to the lack of certain shader options (I couldn' find 'em, anyway)
Well, here's hoping someone will find, explain, or otherwise make available that option. This is surely going to be popular for those of us who labor in DAZ. (THANKS)
