@Robert _Bylund thank you for the hints. you can change the shader in daz. there are individual material zones. just take other shaders and change the direction, size ... in tilling ... or in the leyered image (no idea how it is written correctly) The other …thanks for kind comment and many fun if you use the freebie …

When working with wood, it looks more realistic if the grains go lengthwise, and preferably, if possible, follow the curvature of the object, especially if it an instrument that requires tension to transfer sound. Now, I don't know how one could achieve that in Daz (nor any other program, alas), but perhaps working in the same way as when one does hair (which I don't know how to either), as there the texture follows the strands?
