Product Notes

This is a little Arch Bridge inspired by some of the Ancient Chinese Arch Bridges dating as far back as 600AD and are still in use.

The bridge uses some remarkably detailed Poly Haven CC0 license textures, and I offer both 2k and 4k options for the materials used. This causes a rather big download, around 60Mb. I hope it's not too excessive for a freebie. Most of that is textures. The included .obj file is under 100kb.

I have included 4 morphs covering making the plinths deeper for uneven ground, and the ends of the ramps go up and down a little for road height adjustment. The latter morph must be seen as a last resort, because the block textures move and can look a bit odd.

BarTales, I'm sorry, but I don't follow. I can't do content for Poser as I don't have a usable copy. I had Poser 4, but that was my first and last version. As a result, I can't check Poser props, even if I could make them. I have included an obj file, which is the closest I can get to Poser, and the tex maps can be applied in Poser. Mozzipoz and Jgon424, thanks for your comments.

As a result of very useful comments on the DAZ forum, in the next 24 hours I will be looking at having different material settings that may be more suitable for different times of day to avoid bleaching out the block and paving slab colours. Regards, Richard.

Thank you both for your comments. I have learnt a lot with this model, it caused a bit of lateral thinking to get the straight block textures to be texture mapped around the curved sides of the arch. I hadn't realised there were even more ancient bridges in existence, but I can believe they're in China. Near my parent's farm there was a stone humpback bridge dating to the 1400's that needed a little repointing every half century or so... Could see that going on for another 1000 years or so provided there is no catastrophic flash flood. It goes under water for a day or two every year, but it doesn't see flash floods.

Thank You for this. There are actually some arch bridges that date back to BCE that are still in use. These are what modern people call footbridges. Not even wagons or carriages use them. The oldest are in more rural areas of China. The most interesting part is they need little maintenance to keep them in service.
