db Shader Chainmail 1
What suit of armor is complete if it doesn't have chainmail. I have more chainmail to give away, but due to the 3 uploads per day, you'll have to wait.

Ginny38, A texture is usually associated with a particular outfit or prop. You'll see texture sets, for example, by Valkyrie prefaced by InStyle. These are textures that only work on that particular product for which they were designed. A shader can be applied to most anything. They consist of the main image and are augmented by various maps. For example, the bump map defines high and low points. Black is low, white is high, grays are in between. The normal map adds texture to the image for added richness. On this chain mail, the normal map is kind of boring, but on velvet, for example, the normal map would be quite rich giving the velvet that detailed texture you see on real velvet. This kind of a newbie explanation. Are you using DAZ or Poser?

What's the difference between your "shaders" and your "textures"? (to me they look the same) but I'm a "newbie" - so that's why the question. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE!!!
