A very detailed model of a typical contemporary Italian railway station, inspired to several real stations in Central / Northern Italy (Pisa, Bologna, Lucca).
This one is good for a medium sized town (population 50000 / 200000).
It was built in late 1800s or early 1900s, damaged in WW2, partially rebuilt after the war, renewed in 2000s.
Ground floor: square with a fountain, bus and taxi stops. Platforms, a subway.
Main hall, ticket offices, waiting room, luggage depot, toilets, bar, police office, pharmacy, newspapers shop.
Stairs, elevators.
First floor:
offices, bedroom and bathrooms and cafeteria for employees, lobby, maintenance, railway traffic control room.
Roof and clock.

Modeled with 3dsmax, exported to Poser 12.
It includes 60 camera views.
A WARNING about the light sets!
There are many area lights and I don't recommend to load everything if you don't have a powerful PC.
Another useful tip to save memory: set the preview mode to outline or wireframe.

Thanks for this detailed station! There are not many freebies or pay=for architectural structural models that are as detailed as this one.

First off: Thanks a metric ton for this, this is nothing short of spectacular. After exploring it for a while (and it's very explorable indeed), here are some thoughts: - It's staggeringly extensive and detailed for a freebie *and* very lightweight for an enivronment of its size and complexity... meaning it renders fast *and* looks good at it. Really, most commercial products wouldn't bother filling in all the rooms and thoughtful details, or would at least be very expensive multi-product sets. In many way, this is a full-blown urban environment. - It's structured very well: Individual props and material assignments make for some convenient customizability. You can hide many individual bits and pieces (such as signage or furniture) in case you want your scene more lightweight, suggest a different era, or the like. - The tracks are standard gauge (or at least very close, considering scaling isn't always precise when porting things). So many rail-related product don't care about that, but this one does (and it isn't even a commercial product!). The reason why the tracks look so broad on the promo image is that they seem to be a bit too close to the very low platforms, so realistic rolling stock will have some overhang and look slightly odd. But that's just the merest bit of criticism, and easily fixed by placing your own tracks instead--which is easy, thanks to the aforementioned smart scene structure. - It seems to work well in DAZ Studio. There's an odd error message on load-up, but everything appears in place. Of course, assigning Iray materials to *really* make it shine would be quite the project for a rainy day, but that comes with the territory. It's made for Poser, after all. That about sums it up. If you need a station or even just an urban environment, I urge you not to skip this just because it's freebie. It is just *that* good.
