These were taken on the road that goes along the Taylor River in Washington State. Where's the Taylor River, you wonder? Well, it goes downstream a bit and becomes the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. The Middle Fork joins up with the North Fork and the South Fork in the North Bend area and they become the Snoqualmie River. Confusing, you think? Well, if you go downstream a bit, the Snoqualmie and the Skykomish rivers join to become the Snohomish and that dumps into Puget Sound. Is that clear as mud? If not...wait to flood season, they all do a stellar job of bringing us mud then!
In any case, the Middle Fork/Taylor River area is one of steep valleys, dirt roads, and wild scenery. People go up there to camp, hike, and look at trees. When the roads are open.
By the way, you'll notice a haziness in some of the pictures, or a dust cloud...that's because there was an amazing amount of traffic up there. Hundreds of cars. And this is a dirt road. A cloud of dust goes
