Description

I'm still lurking in the near vicinity of my grandmother's house - I've moved off no more than 200m. In fact, the mountain in this photo is the same one that was in the second picture of this series. I just moved around some looking for a bit more interesting foreground, and decided that these trees would serve well. I'm standing in the shadow of a cloud, metering on the sunlit mountain, yielding a pretty dark foreground - but it still have a lot of visible details (a horizontal band formed by yellow flowers on the left for instance) so I decided not to adjust it (I've taken down the hightones a notch). The pohoto was shot in Lofoten, a group of islands in the north of Norway.

The ground is a bit dark, but the sky came out nicely and it doesn't bother me. Such a raw, natural landscape, I love it!

I like this the best of your series. The composition is wonderful - I think the silhouette of the trees enhances the effect quite dramatically. A beautiful photo.
