Description

At a conference of atheists, they had a huge puzzle: How did the sheep survive, evolutionarily? They are weak, without any defense mechanisms against predators. They are too dumb, to recognize danger. They are not even fleet-footed to escape carnivores. The logic, eventually, had only one direction -- the sheep survive, only because they have a shepherd. "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall no evil. For thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me." -- Psalm 23 In Tolkien's epic novel, Frodo the insignificant, terrified, Hobbit takes the ardous journey against gargantuan foes into the Caves of Mordor to destroy the Ring of Power, in the place it was spawned. I have felt like that oftentimes -- scared, powerless, stupid in my ardous journey thru broken-world experiences. But I've survived... because I have a Shepherd, and more than that found meaning.

Great analogy you shared about the sheep. How easy it is for a believer to see with clarity, that which is only darkness without faith. Your image is so intense, with marvelous vivid and hot colors that represent trials that appear on our way. Yet I feel confident of survival and pressing on through the difficult terrain, to arrive at one that is beyond imagination. Excellent artwork! V
