I like the idea of isolating the butterfly from the background the way you have done it. I am just not sure as to the strength of the background. For me it is a bit too dark . The plant upon which the butterfly rests is fine in its contrast level, just the very dark patches bother me as they seem to distract me from the main objective, the butterfly.
