Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Hahaha.. ja, prachtig.. fotografie kan inderdaad erg misleidend zijn, maar daardoor ook weer erg mooi. Dat toont deze foto maar weer eens aan.

An interesting capture, and an interesting postwork! I think maybe a little further could have looked more effective, tho. The lighting is very strange! Sad to see the end of this series, they have been spectacular.

LOL, your cousin looks rather stiff to me #:op I actually thought it was some kind of inflatable doll you had brought with you...yeah i know...quite a silly imagination i have, LOL. Besides if i had an inflatable doll i would definitly not dress it quite so warm...muahaha. Cool capture by the way #;o)

That's freaky as you say. The original photo is great, but when you zoomed in and rotated the top one, it lost its sharpness and definition, which is a pity. That's something we have to watch out for when doing photomanipulations of any kind, but I'm sure you are aware of that!

Man you had me going there for a minute...the thing is, I wouldn't have put it past you to put yourself in this position to get the shot~ Thanks for the stunning shot and the great view! Aloha!

The first one is not so steep. It seems that we can walk on this slope, not climb!

Marrant cette photo. Le trucage est utilisdans pas mal de film.
cynlee
looks great tilted! like he's holding on to the end of the world! :]

I agree with Cynlee...wonderful work again

Which way is El Capitan? In a shot the water fall blows up into the mists of heights. The clunk of a rock may be the only signal of which way is down. The ear is strangely directional to this. Mine is also right biased.
WonderfulCreation
lol.. at what rotation does he start sliding? :)

Hehe... you just fooled me with the upper one, Jan! When I saw it first I just stopped breathing! :o)
sossy
looks really crazy and dangerously! a cool idea for a joke! but in the original shot it also looks like he is rolling down the abyss! and the clouds are underlining the dramatic! ;o)
BorisB
Nice idea!

This is such an OUT OF THIS WORLD capture, Jan-Carel!!!! it looks almost as if he's wearing a space suit and space helmet. is it just me? scrolls up to read hmmmm....seems i'm the only one who sees him this way. but really what an incredible shot! sure does look like he's in a dangerous position and just the slightest bit of wind could push him over the edge. the sky is so strange looking too! you sure this was taken on Earth????? :) Cool capture!!!!!!

Funny. I like what you did with the image...and the fact you came clean about it! ;]
