Description

Thanks to the comments left by Egmont, I figured I would add a couple of more images, this being the first. Cemetary #2 off Canal Street in New Orleans. For those that don't know, since N.O. is below sea level, they can't bury the deceased. These buildings act as crematoriums where, after a year, the cremains are then placed under the building, freeing the building for the next family member (or whomever). And, again, thanks for the comments Egmont. btw: The only retouch work done on this series of shots was to resize the files in Photoshop. I believe they are stark enough and speak for themselves without having to manipulate the photos any further.

Thank you for the acknowledgment. It really is very kind, though it was not necessary. I just felt these images have great importance and social significance. The place almost feels like Pompeii or some other ancient Roman city. Yet they are better cared for and also much older then these structures here. So for me there is much sadness. Still I wish I could be there to and record along with you these beautiful remains. Have a wonderful Sunday.
