Description

As we were cruising in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight as far as the eye could see, our ship came upon this poor little rowboat full of refugees fleeing their country. We rescued them and waited 4 hours for the Coast Guard to arrive and take them to safety. I wish them well

Such beauty and desperation in one shot. You can't help but be moved by the fact they risk it ALL, even life. God speed.

It's amazing what folks will risk for a chance at a better life - we take so much for granted! You've captured a very beautiful blue shade of water :)

Amazing story!! That rowboat certainly looks small and utterly inadequate in the middle of the ocean.

it is amazing you were witness to the rescue. we almost take our freedom for granted and yet the a big chunk of the rest of the world is oppressed and many will strive for it at the cost of their lives in many cases.

That's so awesome!!! I really feel for the good people in African countries getting no where but surviving on their hope of a better world...

It's difficult to realize how desperate a person would need to be to take a risk like that. I feel very fortunate and grateful for my station in life.

A rare bit of living history. Nice capture. Puts things into perspective when we compare what we have to what others merely dream of.

Excellent capture of the sparkling water, and the sad, sad, sad situation. I will pray for them tonight. How bad must bad be to risk it all? Vote. Love ya-Sis
