Description

Back in the '80s, my college roommate was chased by UFOs. She was driving up the Taconic State Parkway one night, when suddenly, red and white lights appeared above her car. There was no sound at all, just the lights, which floated along after her. A friend was in the car with her, and they were both terrified. The speed limit was 55 mph, but she ended up going 90 mph, trying to escape. The lights kept up for awhile, then vanished. Later, I heard that other drivers along that road reported that the same thing had happened to them. In fact, it was so common that Unsolved Mysteries did a segment on it. They came to the area, got a permit, and actually filmed re-enactments on the road. According to Unsolved Mysteries, some of the incidents could be blamed on the local ultralight club. They apparently liked to fly their small, quiet aircraft in formation behind cars, freaking out the drivers. However, they claimed they only ever did it on Thursday nights, which was when they had permission to use the local airstrip. It was Sunday, not Thursday, when my roommate was chased. She is now convinced that it was just pranksters in ultralights, but I wonder...
