Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

You bet this gull is on the watch ! This place must be a very good restaurant for her !

Hmmm, the proportion of the responsibility of the sun must be really insignificant comparing to the moon! But you're right, it's not zero! Cool shot...

Those textures and colours are amazing! And the gull is an extra bonus :o)

Awsome rocky coast and well caught.

I have never heard of an ancient explanation of the tides. There is the "end of the earth" myth about the Gates of Hercules and the whirlpool that protect America from hordes of seamen but tides, no.

Very interesting to see the "underwater" side of the rocks when the tide is out! A nice contrast with the beautiful blue sea :)

Wonderful shot, the gull standing guard!

That's some drastic tide differential...the moon phases really does affect the heights here in the islands also...but I don't see this dramatic change. Great shot here...Aloha~

Tide-zones are amazingly diverse areas, ecologically speaking. This is a great survey of one such place!
