Description

This may sound silly, but until a couple of days ago, I thought Bryce was an intimidating tool, probably because I was new to 3D design and working in wireframe mode wasn't a natural process for me. I was also confused as to how you could create complex objects, like ornaments for example. I had a mental block... All the pieces came together though, when I read Mirek Drozd's tutorial on the use of symmetrical lattices to create structures, in the "Digital Sci-Fi Art" book. Suddenly, it made sense! And the above image is the result of my experimentation with greyscale cutout shapes and symmetrical lattices. It took a while but I think that Bryce and I will now have a wonderful and fruitful relationship together! :) Thank you very much for viewing this image - your comments are welcome and appreciated as always :)

Keep up the good work. If you have any questions as to how I do any of my pics, drop me a line. Oh, and I grabbed "Digital Sci-Fi Art" book myself about a year ago. I look forward to your next posting...;)

Nice for a beginning. It shows lots of promise to what you might do in the furure. I'll keep an eye out for further works of yours and offer help where i can. You already have a good atmosphere going in your render, so keep that up, cos it can make or break a render. Cheers Seagram

Welcome to Bryce!! I am pleased to read you have gotten past the initial intimidation factor. Bryce IMHO, is capable of just about anything. I have seen things created in Bryce that blow me away! Once you get "Friendly" with it, you will find it to be incredibly useful. I usually export from Poser, into Bryce. This is a very nice image, especially considering it's an early piece. Most people don't come near this level of sophistication with thier early renders! The "Dutch" angle adds some nice tension to the scene!
