Description

I've been experimenting with haze settings. I was going to add a moon to this scene, but I couldn't get it to look right and I thought that adding it in PSP would be cheating, so I left it out. I've had a very useful tip, so I've changed the sizes of my existing pictures and from now on all my scenes will be uploaded at 800 x 600 pixels. I cheated and added the moon in PSP with the the Airbush tool set at Size 41, Hardness 11, Opacity 10 and Density 100.

Looks simple but pretty realistic. I like it.

Thanks :-). I'm still just learning, so it's a matter of fiddling around with settings till I find something I like and then saving it. Unfortunately, it took me some time to realise that I had to save all the atmosphere, terrain and other files SEPARATELY and I lost a lot of promising stuff that way :-(.

I agree with christianfly! Very natural and believable. Sometimes making an excellent picture like this one is a function of avoiding discordance. Nice one.

Thank you both Simplicity and stbc :-). After seeing the standard of the other pictures here I was very worried about posting up my work because I wasn't sure it was up to that standard, but I've been very pleased with the reaction I've received so far :-).

More like islands in heavy fog, but no matter - it's a nice simple image (and unreg TG you can render 1280 X 960 images max) Don't be concerned about our "standards" - we all were beginners once! Got a question ask us or visit the Forum. Good luck!

Well, islands in heavy fog at night :-)! I think I rather overdid the haze there a bit :-). Thanks for the nice comments anyway :-).

Perfect mood and POV... excellent water. And dont be afraid to post your work for all of us beginners begin by taking that plunge and posting here. And it's a great way for those who do know what their doing to help us poor newcomers.. :) Suggestion too ... don't be afraid to use PSP for a moon. I can't remember where I got it but I have some great brushes of moons and birds ... I use the birds all the time in my pictures now. And to make the moon 'real' try making it smaller.. I usually use .25 and 1 for the size and 55% and 18% for glow and power (found in the lighting of the sun tab) Keep this up excellent start..
