Description
i've been spending a lot of time down in this area practicing for a trip i plan to take in the next few weeks to a spot with waterfalls galore. it's a 2 1/2 hour ride so i want to make sure i know what i'm doing before i set out, it would suck to spend all that time and not get a decent shot...lol!
another reason i'm down there so much is that i'm trying to document all the garbage that's being discarded all over the place. it really makes me sick that some people have no regard for anything at all. there has been a 100% increase in the amount of garbage since fishing season started... i plan on taking the pics to the local news paper and if no luck there then i'm going to the park rangers office. they're ruining it for the people who come there to enjoy it, myself included. every shot i wish to take has either a fisherman in it or what's left in their wake. i've totally had it with removing plastic bottles, beer cans, and all the other various trash they leave behind. for once i would love to see a deer or something start shitting all over their houses and their neighborhoods...see how those bastards like it!!!
please excuse the rant, i'm just so disgusted that they are ruining my favorite place. i've been going down there since i was a kid and have been photographing it since last October. it really breaks my heart to see the scenery being trashed by all the inconsiderate assholes that visit...

Magnifuicent composition and I couldn't agree with you more on the rant! Rant on, rant on! I have personally cleaned up tons of garbage left behind by inconsiderate asses and would absolutely love to dump it in their front yards :-) - ah, what a wonderful fantasy :-) Well done!

Excellent composition and mood. Agree with the garbage situation. It is out of hand everywhere. People just have no respect for nature and other living creatures. Kuddos to you for what your trying to do. "salute'.

By any reason a very intense image i find. Is probably the combination of pov and light that makes it so special. And the photographer of course. Well done Eric, very well done!

two thinks: I love that kind of photo with a hidden perspectiv (it makes the imagination working) and the two different zones give a sensation of two pictures. Two for the one 's price. It 's very good.

What a beautiful image and capture, Eric! love that bridge! yep...understand why you're upset...sure do! i wish people would respect our land. simple stuff...just clean up after yourself, put trash where it belongs...stuff like that! anyway, what i love the most about this image i think are the shadows on the right on the stone. i really love that. and compo is superb. and over there on the left i love that little bit of water falling! it does look like you have a couple of place that are a bit overexposed but perhaps you wanted it like that. i can tell this had to have been a really difficult shot with very hard lighting conditions. but overall you did a helluva job getting those shadows!! Awesome capture, Eric!!

Great POV on this BW Eric. I love water scenes like this. I love your Rant too...We have a saying in the islands "Love the Aina(Land)". Of course we have buttheads that don't appreciate how well they have it also. But for the most part everyone keeps the land clean...a $500 fine helps too. I hope your photo's to the newspaper makes a difference, cause you are trying to make a difference. Good luck with this worthy cause~ Aloha!
