Good morning. I hope the members will bear with me. I do not usually do this, I am NO teacher, but I have found so many creative members here at Rendosity that I thought I would share a little
thing I have been experimenting with. The double photo below is basicly the same shot. But with digital photography, unlike film, you have the tools to really express youself. Just by using the wrong/right "Color Balance" setting within your camera you can dramaticly change your subject
to get your feelings of the subject across to the viewers. Try it you may like it...by the way which shot do you prefer??

SORRY...You and many camera's may call this the "White Balance" setting(s).

This is something i'd probably never have thought of doing, but the results look pretty good. The top pic is stunning btw, lol!

Never really thought about changing those settings, always change what i want to change in PS later,LOL. I like them both, but the top one is definitly my favorite. Have a great day #:O)
vlaaitje
wow, both look stunning, but I prefer the first one

Zacko...Thats great, and yes I know I have seen many of your great works, but this is directed, mainly, to the many people who do not have the program(s)or the time to do the post work.

Superb !!!!

I'm still struggling with white balance - in general to get a "correct" image - next step is the use of grey paper to adjust it to the current environment. Of course you may play with WB options on some digic ams, but I wonder if the effect can be judged properly on a small display....- prefer no. 1 btw

Interesting, but indeed I prefer to have my camera adjusted correctly (not so easy this white balance...) and to play with PS... Difficult to make a choice : n2 is more unusual, so I go for that one... :~)

gwfa...A Gray-card is a very useful instrument. most manufactory's of digital camers program their camera's with a 18% Gray-card but some, as like the Nikon D70 for some reason known only to them, use a 15% Gray-card which makes you increase the exposure by 1/3 F stop. So if you can check you manual then buy the suitable Gray-card. Good luck.

Experimentation is the key to creating digital artistry and to give it that something extra...just as you have show here, well done.

Wow, fantastic work! The effects are really cool! Hard to say what is preferrable. Upper one soft and warm colors (more romantic), last one cool colors and lots of contrasts (more technical recording)! Hmmmm. It depends. Art is expression and both have different impacts. Gorgeous combination!

That's weird! I love them both! LOL! VOTE

mmmmmmmmm... might have to try it... really do like the golden one best :]

You can make some dramatic differences by tuning the white balance. If you shoot in raw I suppose it is easiest to do the adjustment in postwork - but adjusting the camera settings will of course yield the exact same results. I prefer no.2, it somehow looks ... um ... cleaner... Excellent shot(s)!

Prefer the first one, but both are excellent.
