a strange site here... but i know that too from german graveyards... we seldomly have those iron crosses in the area where i live but wooden ones... or sometimes old stones...

Thank you cbender for your comment ! ... I know, that only very few of you will have the courage to comment this strange picture...

Why ! This is a good and interesting picture. In france we had that kind of crosses in little countryside cemetery ? Now it's big marble, granit or concrete graves. Love this picture.

Does anybody want to live forever? Better for the markers to be pulled up and thrown away when those that cherish the dead are also gone. Make way for the living. Great shot.

What a powerful image. At least we leave memories behind.

I don't mind commenting, if you don't mind a little constructive criticism. The composition is off a little. The subject itself is wonderful, crisp, and the lighting good, but the angle of the field is very distracting. I think to crop it on right side of farthest cross would improve it. I love the way the crosses are standing against the white wall!

I like the angle of the field in the background, rather symbolic how we fall off of life on this planet into oblivion. The colors are wonderful in this, and it is a crisp image. It is sad the crosses are no longer used or needed, and falling into disrepair and rust. It is definitely a sign of the times, and the memories of those passed on are no longer respected. That is sad.

A remarkable collection, as mentioned before a sign of the times!

strange composition in this impression! und eine schande, sich an den kreuzen zu vergreifen! die stimmung am himmel gibt der sonnigen szene etwas dohendes von oben! sehr interessantes foto! ;o)

One person's trash is another's treasure. OR... something sacred becomes disposable. Guess it depends how one looks at it. Very symbolic. :0)

amazing picture - all these mass-produced crucifixes facing a common end.
