Description
Meaning:Covered Lizard or Roof Lizard
Lived: Late Jurassic Period
Lenght: 8-9 m(26-30 feet)
Weight: 3100 kg (6,800 pounds)
Diet: plants
Found: western North America
The plates were made of bone which was not solid, but was filled with bloodvessels
and may have been used to regulate the dinosaur's temperature. They may have also been used for protection or mating display purposes.
Stegosaurus also had spikes at the end of its flexible tail and were used for protection from predators.

Great image, the storm is a fantastic idea. Dinosaurs were called dragons before the mid 1800's...

Hm- you're tempting me with dinner already! Good work on the dinos, but the dust storm really adds a nice touch. Dinos couldn't have been cold blooded, considering their size, so the plates may have been a cooling off system (just like we perspire). Some believe the plates could be raised and lowered as some type of defence show. I've got to send you the details re a book called "Dinosaur Heresies" (if you don't already have it!).

Very detailed pebbly texture on the skin, and interesting coloring. It's a very detailed model of a stegosaur. Great job!
