Description

Kobol is a world from "Battlestar Galactica." Considered to be the birthplace of mankind, humanity left it thousands of years ago after an unknown catastrophe, coming upon the star system that would become home to the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. The destruction of the Colonies by the Cylons forced the less-than-50,000 survivors into the depths of unknown space, past the Red Line. The vast red clouds are omens predicted by the Sacred Scrolls of the Lords of Kobol, clouds that precede the coming of an enemy, like the Cylons (this has never been stated in the show, but I felt like putting that in to add an extra touch of mysticism). Made entirely in Photoshop CS...no prerenders. Enjoy.

WOW! If Moore had any sense at all (of which we know he doesn't) he would take you on as a creative consultant. Your use of colour is fabulous. The red against the blue and green of Kobol are striking. What is the green flash though? Keep up the great work.

The green flash is just an effect from the lens flare. Personally, however, I love what Moore has done with Battlestar. I love the fact that it's dark and bleak. Too much eye candy, I feel, would take the focus away from the human drama and stories. I hated all the overblown gung ho stuff from the original series...way too campy for my own tastes. This one has the right amount of each element, in my own opinion.
