I have no idea what kind of tree this is but all those branches off the truck made it very interesting. Anybody out there know what it is?

I've seen pictures of these before, but I can't remember the name, either! It looks very nice with the patch of red ginger at the base :)

This is a parasitic type of ficus that actually grows around a host tree, eventually killing it.

Looks like a tree who couldn't decide which way it wanted to grow and had an agrument w/itself and LOST! LOL!

Interesting! Was it near the coast? I have seen several fir trees near the Oregon coast do somewhat similar things, though not to that degree. One tree is somewhat famous in fact, and is called the Octopus Tree. I just wondered if the constant wind and storms might have something to do with it.

This looks like a banyan tree...largest one in the US is on the property of the Edison/Ford winter estate in Ft Myers, Florida http://www.edison-ford-estate.com/
