Retired photographer living in Orlando, Florida USA, with his wife Mary.. BIO I'm a retired commercial photographer/videographer. I closed out my studio, which is attached to our home, and sold all of my film cameras and studio equipment. I now use Photoshop to restore old photos. I converted the studio into my dream den. Years ago when I designed the studio I planned some details into it with the idea that someday I would retire and need a retreat. It has a fireplace with wall to wall book shelves, wide screen tv, surround sound, and adjustable lighting, comfortable sofa and chair. I also have a wood shop where I design and build furniture. 23 years ago I had a heart transplant, and I feel wonderful! Does a wonderful job of illustrating the time he lived in...excellent stilllife.

This image contains a few interesting traits. First off, Id say it was with a view camera because of the perspective and second, apart from a studio setting, our painting with light using the hose system or such brand of light. With this understanding, I feel that the light painting is not all balanced as if it were to appear coming only from the lamp. This is seen in the barrel of the weapons. I also find distracting the intense hot spot on the china which lacks detail. If I may suggest, during the initial exposure, do all your light painting with the lamp being on at a very low setting, then when you have finished with the fiber lights, then increase the light of the lamp. Exposing only for that time necessary to illuminate the set and create an over all even lighting of the still-life. One other some what minor point is the extreme highlight on the whip. You have a most wonderful setting here. I would also like to welcome you to RR as a new member.

The light reminds me some fotos of David Hamilton, so soft... But a curious contrast between the softness of the light and the revolvers :-)
