Description

I spent more time and had more fun creating the thumbnail than the original. This is another pic from Ghost Ranch,NM. The knarly tree is a dead pinon, which there are many. I was told that a drought made these trees susseptable to a certain kind of beetle that destroyed many of the pinons in this area. These dead trees have such character in shape, color and texture that I must have photographed everyone on the mountain. This one sparked my demented imagination and thus the thumb. WOW!!! Do you have any idea how freakin beautiful this photo is? It is absolutely perfect!!!! Amazing colours and awesome mood caused by that cool looking tree but also by that gradiantly darker sky. And the quality is top notch!!!! AMAZING ALL AROUND!!!! WOOOOOOW!!!!! This is a pic i would so desperatly want in my own gallery...hey, ill trade you whatever you want, LOL. Love it! In the White Mountains of Arizona many of the dead Ponderosas have that special orange color where the sap has hardened near the wood's surface. It's such a vibrant color in the sun, a red-orange not seen anywhere else. Terrific job, Ray!

The tree has a supernatural look to it! Almost demonic! Even the branches have a certain wicked feel to them!

it's like someone had the ability to make trees and one day was so angry that he/she took their emotions out on the tree...here, i believe is the result!! lol
