I first thought it was a California redwood until I read your caption. I think you captured it's beauty in an excellent manner

Even with the close-up perspective, the size of the tree is apparent - huge!!!! Sometimes around trees like that where the rain has washed away the surface dirt the root pattern can look like an immense spider web. I can see a bit of the effect here. A really neat shot!
