BIOSomeone once asked me what was my passion? My anwser was photography. Nothing gets me excited like a good black & white print. I have always drawn and discovered photography in my early teens. Fell in love with it and went to The Art institute of Atlanta in the late '70s majoring in photo. Worked in a custom lab for a few years and realy developed my printing skills. Did feelance off & on but it didn't pay well. I've been working for about 20 yrs. & am one of the owners in a Mining Equip. company. Not very artistic but it led me to doing CAD work. From there I got a copy of PhotoshopLE which led to harder CG drugs. I got involved in 3D and then felt a need to show people some of the things I enjoyed making. So I learned a bit of htm and made a web site or two.
I hope you enjoy the images I post. I have a great time making them and this too is my passion.

Excellent first effort! After you get into volumetric lighting (try a spotlight or 2) and volumetric atmospheres, this scene would be an excellent candidate for some warm golden sun beams penetrating a mist. Your depth/perspective of atmosphere and lighting and your water are very nice. The foreground looks like a pattern - needs some individual plants or such? Or some customizing of the texture. A small animal or figure (hopefully with bright colors), as a visual center-of-interest, would be good to finalize an otherwise excellent composition/design.

When loading this artwork I first was sure that it was a photograph and maybe taken from some holiday travel. As some Renderosity 3D artists such as the brilliant Bruce MacLeod (BPMac) are both top-level 3D artists and professional photographers, I thought that you photographed too So it was very surprising when I discovered that i) it was done in Vue and ii) you were completely beginner whith this soft! Really fantastic render and quite encouraging for other people too! Thanks for sharing this pict!

Beautiful detailed landscape with marvellous atmosphere. Incredible that this is your first picture in Vue. :) Only the texture of the foreground looks like a repeating pattern. Mixing it with a second material could help. :)
