A Tiger for Mea (Photoshop) www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php

I have been drawing since I was 11, some 33 years ago.
My 6th grade teacher, Mr. Knoss, was a great artist and I greatly admired his illustrations. He encouraged me to pursue my artistic interests at a crucial time in my development.
My High School art teacher "Vern", was also a great influence. He always challenged me to try different things.
I was lucky that my parents were very supportive of my interest in art. I studied at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1986-1990). Where I was humbled by many great artists that were far more talented than I. There it was that I rounded out my fine art skills, and then chose to major in Media Arts. Studied film, video and sound. Learned all the skills needed to shoot, direct, edit those mediums.
While pursuing a Media Arts major, I discovered computer graphics, still in it's infancy. This is where I came to an Epiphany. Here was a new medium, that incorporated everything I had previously learned into one new medium. Not only that, but it had new dimensions, interactivity, feedback, randomness, AI. I was hooked.
The next 17 years I learned and grew with the industry. Learning everything from how to create and manipulate digital imagery and create animations, to interface design and interactive authoring. My day job is an Information Architect, a fancy term for software interface design.
A few years back, my wife and I hit on some difficult times (As many people do) and it was during a very dark time in our lives that I discovered what became Renderosity, Initially I posted work, merely as a way to get myself back into the discipline of making new art.
I was delighted to find a world-wide community of talented artists, exchanging ideas and art!! I was thrilled! I have learned so much from you, and your art has brightened up my world. I am lucky to have made some great friends here, and I aim to do tributes to all of you!

Ah well!! Not me but this is so true for most people I think!! I don't understand that urge to posses always more when we already have everything!! How silly is that? I think the lack of spirituality is what drive people to buy, buy, buy! Some kind of replacement! Sad really!! Great image u've created here dear! Very powerful and thought provoking!

Don't get me wrong folks! Not trying to be "Preachy". That would make me a HUGE hypocrite! I (We) should simplify our life, but Sigh I sooo love all the toys! I try to be good global citizens, but there is so much more we could do. Actually this was an image kicking around in my head, I new I wanted something on the "Screens", but "Buy more!" was very last-minute. I will probably play with animating this. Just farting around. ;) Note I was listening to "Technologic" by Daft Punks, fit perfectly!

Great concept and execution. He have trash mountains here in South Florida and they are testaments to our insatiable need for MORE. Ya can't take it with you when you die, and I think the happiest person is the one who has found out how to be happy with a minimum of things. That said, if any of you happier people are getting rid of a digital SLR, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. ;]
Burpee
They build golf courses on our heaps of junk and then charge a fortune to golf on them. Maybe this one will end up an amusement park? Excellent work!

Excellent message...the things in life that matter are free...friendship..love...caring...
shinyary2
Well, friendship and especially love aren't exactly free. They just don't cost anything green. This makes me think of "Starship Titanic", a computer game by Douglas Adams, for some reason. As in the part where the star liner gets lost, comes out of hyperspace, and collides with your house. Looks like it downed a few planes and wrecked a few trains along the way, too...

More! More! more! My NASDAQ and Dow Jones always can do with MORE!!!! salute

Great thought provoking concept here! As I write I'm looking at all the stuff in my study, computers, 2 printers, storage devices, scanner, etc. It's not that I need all this stuff, it's just that I had to buy new to retain compatability. My old SCSI devices won't work with USB equiped computers, for example. I fear we are driven to buy to some extent by the pace of progress! (But I do love my new digital camera!)

a very true image with a strong statement to our wasteful ways. put it in the land fil, but what happens when there is no more land. excellent work Eric

Excellent image! This looks like some of the more distant regions of my hard drive - ancient 3ds models with massive polycounts that I haven't used in years but can't bear to delete!

Cool image!...there is a landfill on my way to work...they have recently added a methane gas burning energy source, powered by four huge caterpillar engines that use the methane from the garbage hidden below...enough power for five thousand homes! 98.9 enficiency rated output from the "smoke" stacks! 900 degreee heat that is cleaner than my toilet! LOL

Very appropriate message - the monster we created turning us into a monster
