This picture was taken from the summit of Prospect Mountain which is 2,034 feet above sea level.
1895 - Prospect Mountain Incline Railway opened to the public. The new property owner, Mr. William Peck and the Horicon Improvement Company joined with the Otis Engineering Company to build the cog railway to the summit. The hotel continued to operate at the summit after Mr. Peck made many improvements to it.
1902 - The popularity of the Incline Railway diminished and Mr. Peck surrendered his holdings to the Otis Company which ran it for one more year as the "Otis Incline Railway".

ooooh, this is GORGEOUS!!!! such beautiful greens and i love the lighting, Maggie! that area on the right where the picnic table is...is lovely! soft and my eyes go straight up that trail!!! I'm ready to go hiking chick!!! How 'bout you???? the only suggestion i can think of for this one is to maybe use a tiny bit of curves adjustment to see if you can bring out that first picnic table in the foreground. then again, it might spoil the neat lighting and shadows you have going on. dunno. hmmmm...maybe not such a great suggestion 'cause i sure do love the shadows! Anyway, i really enjoy this one!!! Now, how 'bout we throw some burger and hot dogs on the grill before we take that walk!!! :)
