Description

Okay, I think the lady is actually holding a golden eagle, but "eagler" doesn't sound as cool as "falconer"! Each year the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program has a booth at the Colorado Renaissance Festival. They provide education to the public and ask for donations to aid in providing raptor rehabilitation and release. From the RMRP website: "Raptors, or birds of prey, include eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, and harriers. These birds are important to us because they fill a critical role as predators in the ecosystem. Unfortunately, many injuries to wildlife are the result of human interaction. Indiscriminate shooting and trapping, collisions with vehicles or power lines, pesticide poisoning, and destruction of the habitat and nests are all causes of raptor injuries. It is up to us to make the difference for these birds". I appreciate your comments in English, Espa

I am glad that she is wearing a glove (protecting the most vulnerable part of her anatomy?)

Very nice picture... though, if you accept a suggestion : this seems to me a perfect image for trying selective coloring (the lady, with some contrast/light adjustment on her head, and the eagle) By this way, the (guy in the)background (in B&W or even blured a little bit) will be less distracting from the main subject... just an idea... But anyway, a good "live" photography ! :~)

What a beautiful costume and the eagle seems intent on something ... maybe that blue feather!! Great capture!
