Description
The water is wide,I cannot cross o'er
And neither have I wings to fly
Build me a boat, that can carry two
And both shall row my love and I.
There is a ship, and she sails the sea
She's loaded deep as deep can be
But not as deep as the love I'm in
I know not how I sink or swim.
Oh love is handsome and love is fine
The sweetest flower when first it's new
But love grows old,and waxes cold
And fades away like morning dew.
The water is wide,I cannot cross o'er
And neither have I wings to fly
Build me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row my love and I.
And both shall row
My love and I.
Traditional folk song origins unknown
This is my all-time favorite song.It has been sung by countless performers, from James Taylor to Charlotte Church. My favorite is by Karla Bonoff.I thought this little pic of a house on a cliff over-looking the tiny hamlet of Pennan,Scotland was just perfect for it.
Hope you like.Have a great day/evening/good night's sleep!See ya!-Marlene :)

I was one of the first people to comment and then you deleted the upload and replaced it. I see that the only difference is the text. So lets see if I can recall what I wrote originally. As the image was coming up and before I had read your original text, I felt that this place was perfect for a movie setting for PBS Masterpiece Theater of PBS Mystery series. For visions of Bronte novels come to mind or a good Inspector Dalglish setting. Guess I did remember it after all. Oh, and yes, I would not mind spending a summer at the cottage.

My original text was simply a description of where this pic was taken and how I cropped it.It's interesting that Egmont sees a theatrical setting. This little house is perched above the tiny town of Pennan, which is famous in Scotland for being the setting of the 1982 Scottish film,"Local Hero".I am delighted that so many of you like this.I never thought so many of you would, and so much.Thank you everyone.I urge you to seek out this song as well.I think you will find the combination of the two really moving.-Marlene
