Interesting idea, but how about some clouds of vapour rising up off the lava, its supposed to be hot after all.

Its a very good mood here,very desolate and dark.. but IMO the icy edge on the lava looks out of place..try making it black..nice work!

Interesting idea... Small suggestion to get that 'dark' and broodieness of Mordor, 3d clouds, some more haze and perhaps a lower sun... make sure your clouds are up to at least 98 % darkness and it should do it. The higher haze tends to darken it but will give that 'misty' look to it. Good POV...

good idea - now lets see a reworked version!! i use some transparent water aswell as red/yelllow surfaces below the water!!! atmos could use some low haze - 300 - 400 height and 80 - 90%
