Description

Another fun selective coloring! I don't know why I like this picture so well, but I do and decided to play around with it alittle. This was also taken on the Virginia Lakes hike. Corn Lily: Veratrum californicum, also called false hellebore. The common name refers to the general resemblance to cultivated corn. Tall coarse leafed plant, plentiful in marshy spots, along streambanks, and in wet meadows. Grows from 3 to 6 feet tall w/large, parallel-ribbed leaves. Drooping blosoms appear July and August throughout the Sierras. Enjoy!
