With my black screen its a bit difficult to truly get the full impact of your framing. But from what I can detect,it's very striking.I love the way you have the text.A very interesting and dynamic composition,Christian.

Cool comp and presentation - looks like a good time was had by all given the amount of images to come out of the visit.
Synapse
Great sense of geometric minimalism here, your graphic lines in the background/frame are the perfect complement to those of the photo itself. And all the better for being in black and white, in the case of this pic any colour and it just wouldn't have been the same. Good one Christian hugs
Planetscape
Original subject and excellent framing!

Amazing Christian, how you can take a mundane object and turn it into something wonderful to look at, as you have done here. Wonderful angle shot. I love the B&W. It adds to the drama. Another marvelous presentation from you.
Mikan

Klasse gesehn,Christian. excellent b/w photography art. bravo #:O)

Very sharp corner, nice pov. like the street names on the fence too, better than on poles. nice in the soft b&W tones, eccellent! Lina

Before I comment I wish to pull a few word from those who have commented as I fully agree with their observations. They are geometric minimalism, mundane object, and Bewegung und Gegenbewegung (movement and movement against itself). There is tension and the drama is taken out of the picture and brought into the frame. As I have mentioned before, your framing is becoming an integral part to the photograph and the two coexist in a symbiosis that makes it work. So now we come to the technical portion of this photograph. The latitude between the black and white is very shallow, as I wish to see some black. If this were printed in the darkroom, I would say a grade 2 paper, but how about a 3 or even a 3 1/2 grade to achieve some of the blacks? To correct this, you would need to go back to the Channel Mixer and play around with those settings if this were shot in colour, but since you used film there are two options, redo the print with different filters or rework the scan. The other comment has to do with the positioning of the camera. I do like the coming and going feel of this print, however I would consider raising the camera angle so the highlight on the street sign might be less and we could read the name. This would also give a slightly different drama to the scene. If I am correct in remembering, the street sign is a dark blue with white letters, use this as a guide to made the dark blue a black to achieve a larger range of the tonal scale. back to the camera angle. By being a little higher, consider your lens, the 17-35 mm, you will achieve a distortion that goes to the feet and not upward were there is no drama. I guess that covers it. I hope it helped. Of course I was not there to see the situation first hand and can only assume from this photograph. One more item, a sort of PS: The lines in the framing of this photgraph I see are deliberate and work very well, also the two version of type tones, though I would make the lighter type a point sizes or two smaller as not to crowd the image while leaving the other one be as it is.
