Description

My favorite cartoons as a kid (and now, if they were still around), were from Fleischer Studios in the 1930's. Many imitated famous movies, or lavish musicals, except they featured bugs, or household items and products in a pharmacy, all come to life. Max Fleischer, Walt Disney and others made some incredible art in those days and while plenty of great stuff has come along since then, the 30's and early 40's was the Golden Age of comics and cartoons. This image was done with those in mind. *** The bugs are derived from my Bryce poseable woodie. The first was made a few years ago and I just recently found him again.

Love those old cartoons, too. In the beginning, all the animation studios made those kind of cartoons, even Warner Bros. A lot of imitation in those early days. :^) Some of the best animation ever made was in black and white and full of jazz music. And due to the subject matter, those cartoons weren't made for children.

Super find! Love the lighting Dave, and great characture creations! I am sure as a child in the '60s, I enjoyed the re-runs....looking at your piece brings back memories, hey..they have to be there! (=
