Description

I try not to normally include roads in my images but this image shows the beginning of the South Mountain Hill Climb back in the 70's well not the pic but the area years ago. The first part was very fast and hitting up to 180mph at the beginning was a must to be fast for the whole race. There where may cars that broke trying to get their speed up at the start, clutches, transmissions, rear ends, axles, etc. could break and these cars were like dragsters but they could handle around the corners like a bat out of hell because in some to the turns you could go off and end up..well..not in a good place. I don't remember all the details from those days but there were injuries not sure if anyone died but I'm sure that is why it was discontinued. This view brings back memories of racing a 400hp Mustang up this hill and reaching speed of 150mph. No fear in those days!! Of course there are the clouds that I love to watch and dream..escape into that world that only what I want exists; a time to meditate about what life has given us so freely and what we sometimes waste. Again, Thank you for your comments!! I wish to thank you all ahead of time for viewing my postings; I just hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy wandering and using my camera! Thanks for taking a peek and commenting

Lovely view and great info, but I'd tone down that blue border as it distracts from the scenic highway. Keep on dreaming! =]

Im like you that way, i also try not to include roads in my photos. But sometimes, as in this one, it only makes the whole compo so much more beautiful. Gorgeous capture my friend. Such an amazing sky again!!!! Have a wonderful weekend #:O)

Fascinating picture - a good sky makes it. Roads do seem to hold memories for many :)
