The textured version of my image, Ascending and Descending. Suggestions welcome for backgrounds, although nothing too complex, please. :)
Yes, this IS possible. This is probably my most long-worked-on image, so be kind.

I think you've done an excellent job of visualizing this, one of my favorite Escher pics. Might I suggest some sort of cobblestone and grassy mound mix for the groundplane?

Well a few of us know the secret, but we're not telling. We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you. On the other hand, we could just give you a hint and rough you up a little if you'd prefer..... Nicely done. It's about time someone else did a little Escher!

It's all in the meditation and chanting of the monks on the roof. :) Well done!

I have the EXACT original lithograph of this, framed, signed & haging on my wall. I'm sorry to say, this looks like a scanned copy of Escher's original lithograph.

Sazzart, that's frankly insulting if you think I would do something like that. I've been working on this for about a year in a half. I'm not sure you meant your comment this way, and I certainly hope you didn't. ...Although, if taken another way, thank you for thinking I could do such a precision job (there are several details missing, however, that I do intend to add, such as the monk on the stairs and several of the windows.) I have posted the pre-render wireframe, that should show you it is, indeed, a genuine 3d render. Thanks to everyone else for their comments, I will take them into mind when deciding on the background. :)

Upon talking to him, I found that sazzart's comment did not mean what it seemed to imply, so I ask you all not to judge him (or me) based on it. Thanks.
