Description

Here's something a bit different. This is my turtle, Ben. He's not too bright. Every time I feed him he keeps trying to pull himself up onto the dock, straining to reach his food when he is not quite strong enough to manage this. Of course, just out of view of the camera, there is a nice, convenient ramp which his brother Theo has no trouble at all figuring out to be the wisest option. Ben is just absolutely certain that the best way to reach the food is in a straight line, NO MATTER WHAT. Silly guy. But he doesn't starve. He often steals the food from his brother's mouth or figures it out eventually. :) But his determined expression as he tries /so hard/ every time...is just so cute! I hope you enjoy this photo, taken August 2005.
