Description

Apophysis 2.02 PhotoFiltre (framing and color change) Thanks for viewing and for comments on previous posts. The title for this piece is a condition that I have. As it applies to me, music, when I listen to music, I see colors dance around the room.As I listen to fairly easy going music I see mainly pastel colors, however when I do listen to Abba or Stomp or anything that has a harder beat or a lot of base, I see deeper darker colors.. If you are interested in learning more I have the address for you. When I create in apo or however I create, what I am listening to influences the colors of that piece and often the title as you have seen in my other works:-)They don't always stay that color, lol, if I change music, I change colors. What is synesthesia? Synesthesia is a condition in which one sense (for example, hearing) is simultaneously perceived as if by one or more additional senses such as sight. Some famous people who may have had synesthesia include: Vasily Kandinsky (painter, 1866-1944) Olivier Messiaen (composer, 1908-1992) Charles Baudelaire (poet, 1821-1867) Franz Liszt (composer, 1811-1886) Arthur Rimbaud (poet, 1854-1891) Richard Phillips Feynman (physicist, 1918-1988) For further info: http://www.mixsig.net/

Shadow, this is so beautiful! Wow, it sounds to me like your condition is a blessing! Music is very important to me. I have noticed my moods seem to change depending on what kind of music I am listening to, and I also listen to music when I do art. If this is any indication of the colors you see, I am envious! I agree with Leanndra, synesthesia - amazing. I work with colour in a healing capacity...it's incredible the reaction some folks have to certain colours directed at areas of the body. You should also see others' auras when there is music playing then? This is a stunning pastel beauty! :)

I too wish I had your gift. I do have dreams in vivid color...some say their's are only in black and white. I have epilepsey so all my senses are heightened...often to my disadvantage, but I don't see colors with music. Darn! LOL. This is really beautiful, Shadow. No wonder your fractals are always the best I have ever seen! Hugs

Brilliant work here Lynn and you were so far ahead of your time when you created this. The reason I say that is a lot of the modern devices that play music and feature a colorful show as it plays respond in almost the same manner as you view the colors in your mind.
