Description
A low-poly test model for the X-Box engine. I only have one month 3DS MAX experience, and about the same amount of time for character modeling! But I had previously worked a lot with textures and simple modeling with other 3D packages.

We were given a 3000 poly limit to create an antagonist character to test the engine. For our current project, the main character will have no less than 5000 polys. :) Very much within the ballpark.

This is great.

whoa I don't know anything about the techno-speak but I likes the frog character!...cool job

That's pretty amazing, if the x-box can push multiple 5000+ characters! Seems a bit too much but the graphics do look good. Great model by the way. Arms and legs are a bit too plainly textured, add a spot or two to them.

Thanks calzgal, lorraine and god___ :) The official X-Box specs is that it can push 100 million textured/lit polys a second. But realistically it's more like 40 million for the first games coming out. Still thats two-thirds of a million polys per frame! Seeing it in action is something else! You're right that the arms and legs are a bit plain. I'll try and do better next time. :) This is one of my first tries at character modeling.

I'm curious what your texturing methods are... I'm struggling a bit in this area as far as mapping game engine worth textures.
