Description

This is the Antwerp town square and also the open air market place of this city in Belgium. Here one can find the town hall and many old buildings with a long history, like the buildings shown at this picture. They all date back to the 16th and 17th Century. Antwerp in that days was already an important city. In the 16th Century, Antwerp was much more important than Amsterdam, but during the war against Spain (1568- 1648), many important people left Antwerp to build a new future in Amsterdam. LOL at Andreas .. wonderful shot... my Mother was just tellin me how odd it was that the buildings went strait down with no swoop that that dutch didnt want to use up extra materials ..hehe..... i find them beautiful ....wonderful shot!!
