I was just trying different textures in this one, again the water thing is the same but the rock textures are slightly different. Hope you like

You must work with your surface and you need minimise the reflection of the sun.

the reflection is a bit large and though realistic ends up dominating the picture. I left the surface on purpose because I think the rock formation looks more natural as it is... but thanks for the comments, I will consider them for future pics. Jim

good point Harvis I didn't think about seeing the end of the terrain, I was going to put greenery in to the pic but decided against it, just on gut not for any particular reason, I suppose they could be volcanic formations that then wouldn't grow anything for a few millenia but I didn't decide for any particular reason. Jim

Have a look here: http://epoc.isima.fr/~jpoc/photo/16.jpg , it's a photography of "la Chaine des Puys" in France, where there's only volcanic formations ;) ! But they stopped their activity a long time ago... And if your volcans are relatively youngs, yes, it could be like that. Then, where is lava? How that am I painful :p ?

haha ok touchHarvis, I don't know I just liked the way they formed and it did look kind of volcanic Jim
