Thanks to all once again for the kind comments on my last post. Sorry to be so slow with all the replies. Hope to be up to date shortly. Taken some time out recently to experiment further with the P6 materials room. Particularly in trying to get to grips with bringing out realistic skin textures using sub-surface scatter. After many late night test renders, and trying to understand all the node settings and their links, here's the end result. Thanks for viewing, and comments always very welcome. I think the skin is excellent. VERY realistic. I also like the way the front of the face appears in sharp focus... and the ears and earrings appear to be a softer focus... making the picture very dimensional. Extremely well done!

Well its already said - but I dont mind saying it again, EXTREMELY WELL DONE - I (also) like the focus on her face, the light setup, colors the works...and I begin to think I should find another hobby myself...... ;)

Beautiful. I too have posted a portrait using Real Woman and your skin texture is way ahead of mine. I must try and figure out that sub-surface scatter! Well done, really lovely.

Lovely face. She looks so real I thought it was one of the other images I look for. 8-) Excellent skin enhanced by the lighting. Those earrings will leave her ears like those of Spock. 8-) Beautiful.

Fantastic work!!! The face and hair look very realistic, the slight defocusing helps mask the lower texture resolution of the neck. Her left ear looks fine, but her right ear is only a 9.6, maybe a translucency map to soften the shadow a little? This is absolutely wonderful work! (It almost makes me wish I hadn't given up on firefly in disgust...) Excellent work Deane!!!
