Description

It's been more than a week since I've last posted (or commented) - it's been very hectic at work, so I just haven't had the time... Anyway, here is the next picture in my series from Lofoten, a small group of islands far north in Norway. This picture shows a tiny community called Utjakleiv (which literally translates as "beyond the hills")! It's another small patch of flat land, surrounded by mountains on all sides. The ocean is just some hundred meters off to my left, and the mountains reach the sea behind me in a manner similar to what you can see in front of me - in other words, this is a pretty isolated spot. In recent years a tunnel has been built, so this place can now easily be reached by car even in winter. But I can remember when I visited as a kid (that's no more than 15 - 20 years ago :) - the only way to reach this place was by a small gravel road winding its way along the shore below some pretty imposing cliffs - a road that would frequently be closed due to boulders falling onto the road...

Another magnificent composition, I love the separation you have achieved between the nearer mountain and the range in the distance! Superbly done! V
