fiery arrows
aim to wound
a heart
which is solid
like polished onyx
cold and black
refined and perfected
with abrasive grit and pain
a heart
ground so smooth now
it only reflects light
a deceiving shield
watchful
carefully protecting
the tender part
that still bleeds
pure and lovely
